Drawing inspiration from Japan's 1920s jazz kissas (ジャズ喫茶)—venues dedicated to the playback of vinyl on high-end equipment—and the sonic theories of Pauline Oliveros, Sona created a dedicated listening space in the heart of Mexico City, designed and engineered for the appreciation of recorded music and sound. Shortcut's collaboration with Sona found a particularity in the surrounded middle ground that sound conveys through visuals. We reached high levels of details by creating the sense of open spaces, through vivid colors and typography based layouts, that you would only realize their existence once you actively listen.
