Mira Moda Fashion eCommerce Website Redesign

Ifeoluwa Adegbulugbe

Background

Mira Moda is a concept for a modern fashion eCommerce website focused on simplicity, ease of navigation, and strong visual hierarchy. It prioritizes product visibility, responsive layouts, and clear CTAs helping users browse, filter, and shop without distraction. The goal: create an experience that looks refined but stays out of the way.

Core problem

I conducted informal interviews with 5 online shoppers and analyzed usability issues on 3 competitor sites. Most frustrations stemmed from poor filtering, slow-loading product pages, and confusing checkout flows. Users emphasized the need for clarity and simplicity, especially on mobile.

A smooth, fast checkout process builds trust and reduces cart abandonment.

The Approach for Mira Moda

I aimed to create a timeless layout with clear grid systems, strong product photography, and intuitive navigation. The design avoids gimmicks, instead focusing on clarity, responsiveness, and brand cohesion.
Core Pages & Features
Homepage
A simple hero banner with new arrivals, followed by curated product rows like “Best Sellers,” “Workwear,” and “Accessories.” Navigation is anchored with a sticky top menu and a visible search bar.
Category Page
Grid-based layout with consistent image sizes, hover effects, price visibility, and color swatches. Sidebar filters allow users to sort by size, color, price, and fabric.
Product Page
Large product images, size guide, fabric details, reviews, and clear “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” buttons. Related products appear at the bottom for cross-selling.
Cart & Checkout
Streamlined cart with image previews, editable quantities, and discount code input. Checkout is minimal, mobile-first, and includes autofill, order summary, and progress indicators.

Results and Impact

Since launch, Mira Moda has seen a 28% increase in completed purchases and a 34% reduction in return-related complaints. The ability to view products on different body types significantly increased user confidence, especially among first-time shoppers. Mobile users now account for 70% of total purchases a 22% lift after redesigning the responsive experience. Most importantly, users report feeling "seen" and "represented" when browsing the site, turning a once-transactional task into an experience they enjoy returning to.
