Description Dashboard design for JoltSynsor, a deep-tech spinout from Cambridge University developing an AI-powered platform to automate infrastructure inspections for public bodies like National Highways and Network Rail.
The task was to design a single, high-level dashboard screen that gives civil engineers an immediate understanding of tunnel conditions after LiDAR scan data is processed. The design prioritizes clarity, readability, and fast comprehension for an audience that often works under time-sensitive conditions.
The interface provides:
A defect summary with counts and severity breakdown (High / Medium / Low)
Charts showing defect frequency, depth, and location
A heatmap indicating where defects are concentrated
Quick navigation to 3D inspection and reporting tools
This B2B-focused layout uses a restrained, professional style with strong hierarchy and accessibility considerations for older users, while keeping navigation intuitive and data easy to digest.
