Background:
The most common reason for using TikTok avatars to create content was to show an idealized version of themselves when they were not comfortable showing their actual appearance. Use cases included using it for their profile photos, messaging with friends, and interacting in videos.
People believe virtual avatars on TikTok would provide new opportunities for creating original and creative content.

Over 1.3M videos have been created with TikTok Avatars
Although avatars aren’t an entirely new thing, the addition to TikTok will give users a new way to create content on the app. Aside from being a new way to express yourself, the avatar feature could also be useful for people who don’t want to show their faces in videos and would prefer to keep an aspect of anonymity.
