Background:

I joined Vision.io in September 2022 as the company's sole designer, leading the comprehensive redesign of the website, including the creation of a design system that resolved consistency and accessibility issues. My work resulted in improved user engagement, increased sales, and contributed to successful fundraising efforts. I collaborated closely with the CEO, project managers, and developers to bring these changes to life.

Identifying User Pain Points:

Community feedback highlighted three primary pain points:
Bulk Searching: Users needed a more efficient way to search for multiple domain names with various TLDs and filters, without having to perform individual searches repeatedly.
Management Difficulties: Users struggled to manage multiple domain names efficiently. Performing bulk actions like transferring, renewing, or listing domains for sale was particularly challenging.
Trading Experience: The process of buying, selling, and bidding on domain names was not as seamless and user-friendly as it could be, leading to missed opportunities and a frustrating user experience.

Design Process:

Community Engagement: I actively engaged with the Vision.io community on Discord and Twitter to gather real-time feedback and insights from users.
Competitive Analysis: I analyzed similar interfaces on our competitors' websites, such as OpenSea and LooksRare, to understand industry standards and user expectations.
Low-Fi Wireframes: When needed, I designed low-fidelity wireframes to visualize early concepts and gather initial feedback, ensuring the structure of the solutions before moving to high-fidelity designs.
Iteration and Feedback: I created multiple design mockups and shared them with the product manager and the CEO (who was also the main developer) for feedback. We conducted collective A/B testing to select the best design versions.
Prototyping and Testing: I prototyped the selected designs and conducted user testing with our user testers to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments.
Final Design and Implementation: Based on the feedback, I finalized the designs and handed them off to developers for implementation.

Impact:

The comprehensive redesign of Vision.io addressed the major pain points identified by the community and enhanced the overall user experience. The platform saw significant improvements in user satisfaction and efficiency. Additionally, the integration of domain management into the profile page streamlined user workflows, reducing the time spent on managing domains.
Fundraising: Eight months after the redesign, Vision.io successfully raised $2 million in a funding round led by 1confirmation, even during a bear market when interest in Web3 was waning. This underscores the platform's enhanced value and potential to investors.
User Satisfaction: The new platform enhancements significantly improved user satisfaction, as reflected in positive user feedback and increased engagement on the platform.
Market Competitiveness: The redesign bolstered Vision.io's position in the competitive market of Web3 domain marketplaces, making it a preferred platform for users looking for an efficient and user-friendly experience.
