Nummary - Mobile UI Calculator

Here's the shot of a quick design project for Nummary, a simple financial tool that compares total costs between straight cash payments and installment plans. It also factors in potential gains if the upfront cash is invested — helping users make smarter money decisions in real life.exploring how to help users figure out whether it’s smarter to pay upfront or go with installments (and invest the rest).

⚡︎ Problem

People often don’t realize the long-term cost difference between paying in full versus spreading payments over time — especially when interest or investment returns are involved. The experience of comparing those options is either too complex or nonexistent.

➤ Approach

The goal was to make this decision clear and fast. I achieved this by designing this mobile UI with side-by-side comparisons, clean input forms, and a breakdown of total payments, potential returns, and net savings. I also played around with charts, interactive fields, and a light, finance-friendly vibe.

✦ Design Process

1. Discover
Started with a simple insight: people want to make smart financial decisions but don’t always know if paying upfront or in installments saves more — especially when investment returns are in play.
2. Define
Identified the core user goal: “Help me compare both options quickly, clearly, and with minimal effort.” Mapped key inputs (price, interest, monthly payments) and outcomes (total paid, savings, potential earnings).
3. Develop
Sketched low-fidelity wireframes to explore flow and layout. Iterated on the UI with a focus on clarity and user-friendliness. Tested side-by-side comparisons and interactive sliders for ease of use.
4. Deliver
Polished a clean, mobile-first UI with easy input forms, smart breakdowns, and a visual chart to highlight the better choice. The final result: an intuitive, finance-friendly experience that helps users decide with confidence.
