Developed a custom WordPress website for Aizkraukle Library's Regional Studies section.

Custom WordPress Theme Development: Fully customized WordPress theme tailored to the client’s specific needs, enhancing the user experience and overall site performance.

Front-End and Back-End Development: Implemented both front-end and back-end solutions to ensure seamless interaction, functionality, and content management.

Responsive Design: Utilized Bootstrap 5 to create a fully responsive layout, ensuring optimal viewing across all devices, from desktops to mobile devices.

SEO Optimization: Applied SEO best practices throughout the website, including meta tags, structured data, and optimized content, to improve search engine visibility and ranking.

Advanced Custom Fields (ACF): Integrated ACF to provide a user-friendly content management system, allowing easy updating of custom fields and content without technical knowledge.

Technologies Used: Employed SCSS for advanced styling, JavaScript for dynamic functionality, and Bootstrap 5 for responsive grid systems, enhancing the website’s design and usability.

Default WordPress content editor usage for the main content

ACF(Advanced custom fields) - repeater logic created, allowing to add as many front-page block/links as necessary.

ACF(Advanced custom fields) - Ability to change the background image

Client wanted to create a database of people(Writers, etc.), with the ability to filter them alphabetically.

A custom post type was created for this purpose, allowing this information to be added separately, apart from the default "blogposts".

To output the data in the intended manner, a custom post type archive template was created, where data was output accordingly to match the requirements as well as the Figma design.

A custom navigation was developed, which dynamically outputs those letters for which there are any posts to display.

A static image, which can freely be changed via a custom options panel (ACF).

A section which outputs the posts relevant to the selected letter from the alphabetical navigation.

A custom post template was also developed for outputting the information on the people using a mix of built-in data features, as well as custom ACF fields.

Breadcrumbs: Custom modifications were made to the page structure, to match the intended end result in terms of page structure. For this reason, custom breadcrumb logic was also created, to output the path correctly.

Uses featured image for outputting the main post image

Dynamically displayed tags under the image, in case the post has been tagged.

A table for displaying facts about the person was developed, using ACF repeater, allowing editor to add as many as needed.

Main content area uses WYSIWYG editor

A custom search results page template was developed/styled, outputting the search results in the intended manner.

Another custom page template was created, allowing certain information to be added.
