A modern, accessible, and fully responsive website for a Regional Library of Aizkraukle, designed to serve the community with an inclusive, easy-to-navigate platform.

My Role: Developed a custom WordPress theme from a Figma design, handling both front-end and back-end work. Created custom post types and page templates using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). Ensured accessibility by optimizing the color scheme to meet WCAG AA standards and incorporated SEO best practices for enhanced search visibility.

A fully custom WordPress theme was developed for Aizkraukle Library. Each element and section of the page is custom developed, replicating a Figma design.

In this page, the first 2 sections are dynamically returning latest posts from certain categories.

The next 2 book sections are also dynamically returning data. Here we output the latest books, which was created as a custom post type. Each book section returns latest books in a slider.

Final section, the "Databases". This section returns relevant database/partner logos and link to them.

As mentioned above in Frontpage's description, 2 custom post types were made, one for Children and one for Adult books.

On the left hand side, there is a navigation of the last 6 months, which will display the books from that period.

Additional functionality was implemented, which erased the books from the website completely after 6 months from the day they were added. This was done to avoid filling up the database with irrelevant data.

A custom styled search results template was made.

Basic posts archive template was created, with a custom left hand side navigation. Latest posts are displayed.
