AniList is a platform for tracking, discovering, and sharing anime and manga with others. It offers personalized recommendations, seasonal anime charts, and detailed user stats, creating a social experience for fans.
My Role
My job was to re-design(dark theme) and improve the UX of the Anilist page. The timeline was 2 days, including a fully interactive prototype for immediate team review and feedback.
I used advanced Figma features like instance swap for card images, text properties for consistent typography, and components with variants for reusable elements, ensuring design efficiency and consistency.
Design Decisions
Positioned the "Top 100 Manga" list in the top-right sidebar, keeping trending titles easily accessible and enhancing user engagement.
Right-aligned login and sign-up buttons for a cleaner, balanced header layout.
Set the filter panel in a sticky left sidebar, allowing continuous access to filters while scrolling.
Placed filters on the sidebar to accommodate numerous options without impacting screen space or usability.
