The Challenge Gather AI had developed impressive autonomous drone technology for warehouse inventory management, but was struggling to gain market traction. The company was positioning itself primarily as a hardware/robotics solution in a market skeptical of robotics' ROI, and its messaging focused on technical capabilities rather than business outcomes. The sales cycle was long, and the company needed to reposition to attract both customers and additional investment.
The Solution
I led a comprehensive repositioning effort that transformed Gather AI from a 'robotics company' to an 'inventory intelligence platform' that happens to use autonomous drones for data collection. This fundamental shift focused on the business value of the inventory insights rather than the technology used to gather the data, resonating more effectively with supply chain executives who care about outcomes rather than methods.
