CTR Surge for Tech-Review Channel

Jonathan Marshall

CTR Surge Package: Titles, Descriptions, Thumbnails & Tags

A tech-review channel felt stuck at ~4 % click-through. They handed me a backlog of 15 videos that were under-performing.
My Role & Process
Keyword clustering: Built pivot charts to identify low-competition / high-intent terms.
Title lab: generated 12 A/B headline variants, stress-testing for tension, keyword density, and truncation on mobile.
Thumbnail science: used the 3C framework (Contrast, Curiosity, Clarity) plus eye-heatmap simulations to pick one focal point.
Metadata sync: rewrote descriptions with “bucket brigade” copy, front-loaded tags by search volume, and stacked inverted pyramid storytelling.
Outcome
Average CTR: 4.1 % → 8.9 % across the batch.
Impressions: +126 % as the videos resurfaced in browse/home.
RPM lift: 29 % because higher tech-hardware RPMs followed the traffic spike.
What this shows: I fuse SEO, behavioral psychology, and design so the algorithm can’t look away.
Here are some sample titles: The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: A Hidden Power! (Curiosity, Excitement)
The Shocking Truth About S24 Ultra Performance (Surprise, Revelation)
S24 Ultra vs. The Competition: Who Wins? (Tension, Excitement)
