ZŪCHA - BRAND IDENTITY
ZŪCHA is brewed from organic fruit with a gentle kick and is designed for easy nights, café hangs and casual moments with friends. The brief was to build an identity that felt fresh on shelf, felt editorial in lifestyle photography and worked across bilingual markets. Our audience is social and style conscious people who seek interesting, lighter drinks and respond to playful design.
The market is crowded with craft drinks and ready to drink cocktails, so the project needed to cut through visual noise and be instantly readable on a busy shelf. We also had to balance personality with clear product information and meet print and legal requirements for multiple formats. On top of that the design had to feel authentic in both English and Mandarin and scale from small 330 ml cans to tall 500 ml formats. The intention was to create something memorable without losing clarity or usability.
We framed the brand around a simple editorial grid and an energetic illustration family. The cans are mostly white so the characters and badges read clearly and keep the whole range coherent.
The wordmark balances warmth and legibility. Rounded letterforms give the logo personality while the locked up Mandarin mark lets the identity feel local and global at once.
The colour palette is flavour led while remaining cohesive across the range. Each SKU has a bright primary colour that drives the illustration and badges while a deep charcoal serves as the universal colour for the wordmark and legal text. This keeps the cans playful and instantly scannable on shelf while ensuring accessible contrast for small information.
The illustration family is the heart of the brand. Each flavour is represented by a costume character with a fruit shaped torso and human limbs, and the left arm extends to point at CTAs or information. The characters are built as consistent vector shapes with a simple stroke system so they scale for print.
The new identity made the brand feel both crafted and casual and ready for retail and lifestyle contexts. The system is ready to scale from local café launches to broader retail and campaign use while staying true to the brand idea: bright fruit, gentle fizz and easy nights with friends.
