Domestic violence is complex. Victims often don't want to leave — but they need a way to reach out in their most dangerous moments.
The Idea
We created Alexa Lifeline — a skill that lets someone in a violent relationship reach out for help by simply turning on a song. Many couples use music to hide the sounds of violence. Instead of calling police, Alexa Lifeline contacts a trusted person who knows what to do.

We created Alexa Lifeline to give real protection to those impacted by domestic abuse. They could turn on music, secretly triggering a message for help.
