Nitara is an AgriTech platform that helps farmers manage cattle health, breeding, and daily farm operations through simple digital tool. I was brought in to design the web version of Nitara FarmPro from scratch. My task was to take the existing mobile app flows and reimagine them for a desktop experience, making it easier for large farms and cooperatives to manage everything in one place. The goal was to improve the user experience, simplify complex tasks, and design a clean, scalable interface that works across all modules, cattle management, health tracking, reports, and more.

The existing mobile app was built mainly for small dairy farmers - simple, but not scalable. The UX was cluttered, with long flows and hard-to-access features.

Designing for the web meant rethinking everything for larger farms and cooperatives who manage hundreds (or thousands) of cattle and need quick access to reports, helpers, and records.

Some key challenges included:

Adapting poor mobile flows into a clean, efficient desktop experience

Creating bulk views and tables for high-volume data

Making sure the platform stayed simple and familiar, even with added complexity

Designing for users who are not always tech-savvy but need powerful tools

The biggest challenge? Balancing simplicity with scale, without overwhelming the user.

Since the web app was being built from scratch, the goal was to bring structure, clarity, and scalability to the product that previously existed only on mobile. Specifically, I:

By combining cleaner layouts, task-focused flows, and a more scalable interface, the Nitara FarmPro web app helps large farms move from scattered processes to structured management, making it easier to track, act, and grow with confidence.

In the web design, I collaborated with Nitara’s in-house designers to create a clean, modern visual guide. Since their mobile app didn’t have a formal design system, we used the existing mobile colors and components as a starting point and built a structured design system. We refined the color palette, typography, buttons, text fields, and other key elements to establish a consistent, professional identity for a scalable SaaS product.

Vaccination is essential for preventing common diseases and maintaining the overall health of cattle. In this module, farmers can easily record and manage vaccinations across multiple cattle in one go. Designed a simple, step-by-step form flow with inputs for selecting cattle, choosing vaccines, entering vaccination and consultation costs, and uploading proof documents.

Deworming is an essential health practice to protect cattle from internal parasites and maintain their overall productivity. In this module, farmers can easily add deworming records by selecting salts (including custom ones), choosing cattle, entering brand name, date, costs, and uploading proof documents.

Breeding is a key part of cattle farm management, focused on improving herd productivity through timely insemination and pregnancy tracking. In this module, farmers can monitor the reproductive status of each cattle, whether they’re open, pregnant, at risk, or ready for insemination. I designed a clean dashboard with categorized data cards and quick actions.

Weight tracking is essential for monitoring cattle growth, nutrition, and overall health. In this module, farmers can add weight records using two methods: by entering the actual weight in kilograms or estimating it through girth and length measurements. The form allows unit selection and stores the date of measurement.

BCS is a scoring system used to visually assess the body fat of cattle on a scale of 1 to 5, helps farmers evaluate their animal’s nutritional status. In this module, farmers can record BCS values along with the date for each cattle. The history is displayed in both table and graph formats, and only the latest entry can be edited or deleted to ensure data accuracy.

Treatment for cattle involves diagnosing and managing health issues through medication or veterinary care, while follow-up ensures the animal recovers fully and receives any ongoing care it needs. In this module, farmers can add treatment records by selecting the cattle, entering symptoms, diseases, doctor details, costs, and uploading medical proof. They can also review previous treatments, mark cases as cured, or schedule follow-ups with reminders, helping maintain a complete and organized health history for each animal.
