This was a redesign of the Spotify app with a focus on improving music discovery and personalization. I introduced a “Mood” button to help users quickly find songs and playlists that match how they feel — from relaxed to hyped or heartbroken.
🎯 Goal
To make music selection feel more intuitive and emotionally driven by allowing users to listen based on their mood instead of just genre or artist.
🚧 Challenges
• Existing music filters don’t always reflect emotional states.
• Some users feel overwhelmed by too many choices.
• Mood is subjective, so it needed to be simple yet expressive.
✅ Solutions
• Added a “Mood” button on the home screen for quick access.
• Created mood categories (e.g. Happy, Chill, Focused, Heartbroken).
• Designed an animated mood picker for an engaging experience.
• Suggested songs and playlists update based on the selected mood.
🌟 Outcome
• A more personal and emotional music experience.
• Testers said it was “easier to find the right vibe” and reduced decision fatigue.
• Mood-based browsing made casual listening feel more relevant and fun.
Redesigned Spotify by adding a mood-based button that helps users find songs that match how they feel. It made the experience more personal and effortless.
