Objective: The primary goal of creating digital illustrations for Elgin Sweeper Company and Vactor Manufacturing was to visually support their marketing and technical materials, making complex product information accessible and engaging for both industry professionals and general audiences.
Context: Elgin Sweeper and Vactor Mfg, both leaders in their respective fields of industrial cleaning and maintenance equipment, required high-quality visual content to effectively showcase their products' functionality and features. These illustrations were essential in communicating the technical advantages and unique capabilities of each product to prospective clients, end-users, and stakeholders.
Challenges: One of the significant challenges was conveying intricate mechanical details and operations through illustrations while keeping the visuals clear, professional, and aligned with each brand’s identity. Additionally, as these illustrations were used in both digital and print formats, I needed to ensure they were adaptable for different uses without losing clarity or impact.
Process: I started by thoroughly researching each product’s specifications and functions, collaborating with engineers and product specialists to understand the technical details that needed highlighting. Using this information, I developed detailed, accurate illustrations that clearly communicated the products’ key features. Throughout the process, I incorporated feedback to ensure each image was both technically precise and visually appealing, maintaining brand consistency across all assets.
Learnings: Working on these illustrations deepened my expertise in translating technical product information into visuals that are easy to understand and compelling. I also refined my skills in producing scalable illustrations that could be seamlessly adapted for various mediums without losing detail or quality.
