Caldra AI - A scheduling agent that asks before it books

What it does

Caldra reads the inbox, finds the threads that are actually about scheduling, checks Google and Microsoft calendars, and proposes a time that fits your rules. Someone emails three options. Normally that is four context switches before anything lands in the calendar. Here it is one approval click.

The best decision in it

It gets four tools: find free slots, read preferences, check conflicts, propose. There is no fifth tool that writes to a calendar. A person approves, and the approval does the booking.
I learned why that matters the hard way. A calendar token died after a password change, the lookup came back empty, and the agent read no events as completely free. Because it could not book, the damage was one wrong suggestion. The fix was not a prompt: an auth failure is now a hard stop that reaches the user, never an empty result.
And the hardest part was not the AI. It was making Google and Microsoft agree on what a recurring meeting is.
