The brief

A food delivery platform for one city in Kosovo, cash on delivery, with riders who claim their own orders. A customer orders from a restaurant, the restaurant accepts it, a rider takes it and delivers it, and all three watch the same status change in real time. The office watches everything and steps in when something breaks.
The one flow that must work: a real customer orders through the app, a real rider delivers it, and nobody has to phone anyone.

Four surfaces, three apps

Customers order on iOS and Android. Kitchens get their own tablet app, with an alarm that wakes a locked screen, start on boot and keep-awake. Riders get their own app with a dark theme, background location and a job screen that keeps the phone awake. Dispatch is the customer app opened in a browser, laid out for a wide window.
All three apps share one design system, one set of types and one order state machine. Nothing is copied between them.

Built for the street, not the demo

Every transition is a conditional update in Postgres, so a stale screen can never move an order twice. Claiming is tested under load: 30 riders race for 40 orders across two cities, and every order gets exactly one winner.
The rider app works without signal. Every status tap is saved on the phone with its time and sent when the network comes back. If no restaurant accepts an order, the office gets a push at 60 seconds and an SMS at 90.
