Matt Formston Website 1. Research & Strategy

Before opening Figma, I wanted to fully understand who Matt Formston is and what the website needed to achieve.
Matt is not only a keynote speaker—he is a Paralympian, world champion athlete, Guinness World Record holder, and someone who inspires audiences worldwide through his story of resilience and overcoming limitations.
The main goal was to create a website that would effectively showcase Matt's journey, establish credibility, increase speaking inquiries, and provide a seamless experience for both visitors and the marketing team managing the content.
During the research phase, I analyzed the existing website, reviewed industry-leading keynote speaker websites, and mapped out a content structure that would clearly communicate Matt's story, achievements, services, and impact.
The outcome was a strategic foundation focused on storytelling, conversion, and long-term scalability.

2. UI/UX Design in Figma

With the strategy in place, I moved into the design phase.
The goal was to create a modern and professional experience that reflects Matt's personality, achievements, and inspiring message while maintaining a strong focus on usability and conversion.
Special attention was given to:
Clear content hierarchy
Strong visual storytelling
Intuitive navigation
Strategic placement of call-to-actions
Mobile-first responsiveness
Every screen was designed with consistency in mind, using a structured design system that streamlined both the design and development process.

3. Development in Webflow

Once the designs were approved, the entire website was developed in Webflow.
The project was built as a fully CMS-driven platform, allowing the client and marketing team to manage content without relying on a developer for everyday updates.
Beyond the traditional CMS collections, many sections that would normally be static were built using reusable components and component properties, making content updates extremely flexible and efficient.
Key features included:
Fully CMS-driven architecture
Reusable component system with component properties
Shopify integrations
Custom forms and lead capture flows
Custom animations and interactions
Responsive development across all devices
Performance-focused implementation
Editor-friendly content management experience
The result is a scalable website that can easily grow alongside Matt's brand while remaining simple for non-technical team members to manage.

4. Results

The final result is a fast, scalable, and easy-to-manage website that successfully represents Matt's personal brand and professional work.
The combination of strategic planning, thoughtful design, and a flexible development architecture created a platform that not only looks great but also supports future marketing efforts without requiring ongoing development support.
Performance, accessibility, SEO foundations, and content management flexibility were key priorities throughout the project, ensuring the website is built for long-term success.
