Inclusive Design for E-Learning Platform

As the UX and Visual Design Lead for this EdTech platform, I spearheaded the transformation of their digital ecosystem to better serve the diverse needs of students, educators, and corporate partners. This ambitious project centered on creating a versatile platform that would streamline the educational journey while offering powerful management tools for instructors and administrators. The challenge lay in designing a system flexible enough to accommodate various business models and educational structures without sacrificing usability or performance.

Our process began with extensive user research, performing over 250 interviews across multiple stakeholder groups and potential users to deeply understand pain points and opportunities. This research informed our creation of intuitive marketplaces where students could easily discover and enroll in programs, alongside sophisticated dashboards that empowered educators to track student progress, manage cohorts, and identify at-risk learners through visual data representations. The platform's ability to filter and group students based on multiple criteria (courses, grades, risk status, company affiliation) gave educators unprecedented visibility into their students' journeys.

A cornerstone of this project was developing a scalable, modular design system that could support customization for various B2B clients while maintaining design consistency. This "white label" approach enabled each organization to preserve their brand identity within a standardized framework—effectively balancing uniqueness with usability. Throughout the design process, we maintained close collaboration with product and engineering teams to ensure our solutions were both implementable and scalable.

The results transformed how our client and its partners deliver educational experiences. Our solution significantly reduced onboarding time for mentors through intuitive dashboards, enabled early risk detection across multiple courses, and successfully launched multiple client-specific platforms using a single underlying design system. Beyond immediate benefits, this project established a foundation for long-term integration with other tools in our client's product suite, creating a cohesive ecosystem that simplifies student management at every level and scales effectively across organizations.
