Papier Français

I’ve collaborated with Papier Français to breathe new life into historic wallpaper designs. The brand partners with museums and estates to license vintage patterns, some over a century old, and my role is to faithfully restore and digitize them for modern production.

Using Adobe Illustrator, I carefully recreate seamless repeat patterns from archival imagery, often working with incomplete or damaged originals. This requires a blend of technical precision and creative intuition to reconstruct missing elements while preserving the integrity of the original design. In some cases, I also develop illustrative mockups that spotlight the details, mood, and story behind each collection.

• Art Deco (2025) – Revived rare designs from 1925 sourced from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. • Joël Stein – Adapted complex geometric art into repeat patterns, staying true to Stein’s mathematical visual language. • Créatone – Digitized iconic wallpapers and produced scene illustrations to showcase the collection’s elegance in a modern context.
