The team's hard work and dedication resulted in over 2000+ downloads and generated revenue in excess of N11m within just 6 months, The end result was an application that was well-designed, intuitive, and met the needs of the target audience.

INTRODUCTION

In a world where access to quality healthcare remains a luxury for many, our team embarked on a transformative journey to make healthcare accessible to every Nigerian, regardless of financial constraints. This case study delves into the strategic approach, challenges faced, methodologies employed, and the remarkable outcomes in creating a wellness platform that empowers users to prioritise their health.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The project aimed to address the dire need for accessible healthcare in Nigeria, renowned as the poverty capital of the world. Our mission was clear: to develop a platform that not only incentivizes users to invest in health plans but also ensures the provision of healthcare services to the last mile of users.

METHODOLOGIES EMPLOYED

A comprehensive approach combining user interviews, surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, and usability testing provided invaluable insights into user preferences and pain points. User personas and journey maps helped visualize user experiences, guiding the design and development process. These methodologies formed the bedrock of our user-centric design approach, ensuring every decision was rooted in a deep understanding of user needs.

CHALLENGE

Nigeira is the poverty capital of the world hence people arent very adamant or dont have enough money for their healthcare processes. The biggest challenege would be finding a way to make users want to book healthcare even though the majority of health plan people have in this part of the world have is ( hoping not to fall sick ) , however this isn’t substainable and i needed to find a way to make users want to pay for said services while also keeping it in budget for the user. The aim of the project was to ultimately create a seamless experience for the user. Health care is very sensitive and it was important to craft an experience that would enable the user to trust the product.’
I made it a point of duty that my designs were user centric and intuitive enough for even the most technologically unsavvy.

EVALUATING DESIGN EFFICIENCY

Objective metrics, user feedback, and usability testing were employed to assess the effectiveness of design solutions and iterate accordingly. A/B testing, heatmaps, and session recordings provided granular insights into user behavior, enabling us to identify pain points and optimization opportunities. Iterative design cycles ensured that each iteration brought us closer to our goal of creating a seamless and delightful user experience.

ACHEIVED RESULT & METRICS

The platform garnered significant user engagement, with over 11,000 new sign-ups via the HMO configuration feature, facilitating transactions exceeding $61k within seven months. Success was measured through predefined criteria, user satisfaction rates, and the platform's ability to attract and onboard users effectively. These tangible results validated the efficacy of our approach and demonstrated the transformative impact of user-centered design.

COMMUNICATION OF IMPACT

Integration of analytics tools facilitated data-driven insights into user behavior, enabling effective communication of the platform's impact and success metrics. User engagement metrics, conversion rates, and customer feedback were shared with stakeholders to illustrate the platform's value proposition and drive continuous improvement efforts. By transparently communicating our impact, we fostered trust and collaboration across the organization.

FINAL THOUGHTS

While acknowledging the value of metrics and business data, the project's success ultimately hinged on a relentless commitment to understanding and addressing user needs. By placing users at the center of our design process, we created a platform that addresses a critical societal need and empowers individuals to take control of their health and well-being. As we reflect on this journey, we are inspired by the transformative potential of user-centered design and remain committed to driving positive change in healthcare accessibility, one user at a time.
