Automation: Intern Evaluation Workflow

The make.com automation joined 5 different Google Forms (1 per internship position) and their respective Google Sheets with automated Gmail messages depending on the applicant answers to the Forms’ questions. In addition to this, when the evaluator would update the Google Sheets with input (a test grade, an interview score, etc), the make.com automation would send the respective emails about rejection or proceeding to the next step.

The steps covered the initial information capture, the performance of an external multiple choice quiz, the completion of a take-home project and the final interview step. Templates of messages were used throughout the workflow.

The process proved particularly useful in ensuring a common approach is followed for every new hire at the same time ensuring minimal effort on the evaluator’s side. The difficulty of the evaluation could be easily adjusted by editing pass marks in the make.com setup.
