Trading ERP That Replaced an 18-Sheet Excel Workbook

The problem

A sugar trading group with three firms ran the whole business from one 18-sheet Excel workbook: purchase contracts, sales and lifting, stock at several mills, broker accounts, payments and penalties. The brief was a proper system that is as fast to use as Tally, so accountants never need the mouse and see more per screen than a spreadsheet shows.

What I built

A keyboard-first web ERP that replaces the workbook.
Purchases: the contract register, with GST, net payable and landed cost computed as you type.
Sales: FIFO allocation, so every sale is traced to the exact purchase lots it consumed.
Stock: balances per mill as on any date, with a full movement ledger and running value.
Brokers: rate gap, commission, overpayments and money in transit, with per-contract, monthly and settlement statements.
Payments and penalties: mill and broker split, ageing buckets, and late-lifting and late-payment penalties from configured rates.
GST compliance: GSTIN status checks, buyer risk scoring with reasons, and an e-way bill register.
Three firms: switch between them or see them consolidated.

How it is built

Next.js, Prisma and SQLite. A command palette, function-key shortcuts, Enter moving to the next field, and CSV export on every view. The client reviewed the working demo and signed it off.
Client name withheld; the screens show seed data only. Still running your business on spreadsheets? Send me the file and I'll tell you what it would take to replace it.
