Samantha, owner of a dark kitchen sushi restaurant in Bucaramanga, Colombia, hired me to realize her vision of making Rolls.co a fully digital business.
After talking with her and developing the product we decided to implement 2 separate apps: one to allow her customers to order and pay for their food, and another to control internal daily operation. I created:
A public React PWA for customers to make orders, see special offers, and manage their favourite dishes from the restaurant. 🐟
A private app to allow the kitchen to coordinate all food that was being made and needed to be sent to customers.
Both apps were serverless to reduce maintenance and complexity.
Airtable integration so Samantha could easily provide assets for dishes and different presentations and variations.
Integration with local payment portals allowed customers to pay with debit card, the most popular digital payment method in Colombia.
Both apps used no-SQL permanent storage and push-updates between the two.
Reporting and charting so Samantha could have control of her business month-to-month.
Finally, we implemented integrations with emailing and Whatsapp to inform customers of order status.
