Strategic Content Creation ranking #6 on Google in two days

WorkflowMAX is cloud-based job and project management software built for service businesses such as agencies, accountants, architects, engineers and consultants. As part of an editorial content plan I built for them at Refindable, I wrote a series of posts aimed at users of their direct competitors. This is one of them.

Problem

A clear opening. Harvest, a direct competitor, raised its prices without meaningful new features or clear communication to its customers.
No content to meet it. WorkflowMAX had nothing aimed at Harvest users, so it had no way to reach them at the moment they were looking for alternatives.
Strong competition in search. Other brands were already publishing posts about the price change, and many had more domain authority and brand recognition than WorkflowMAX.

Solution

✅ Spotted the moment. I tracked the price change and how users were reacting to it, then made the case for a quick, targeted post.
✅ Targeted the search intent. I built the post around what frustrated Harvest users were searching for, centered on “Harvest price increase 2026”.
✅ Built an angle we could win on. Instead of another generic list of alternatives, I answered users’ questions about the price change first, then showed what WorkflowMAX offers for the money.
✅ Wrote for search and for people. I structured the post for SEO and AI answers, with clear headings, a direct comparison and a call to book a demo.

Results

📈 Ranked #6 on Google two days after it was indexed, ahead of competitors with more authority. It still ranked #11 as of October 2026.
📩 8% more demo requests from Harvest users after the post went live.
