The Context

SciSpace was entering a tricky transition: moving from a beloved free tool for research to a paid subscription model in a space that’s both price-sensitive and trust-driven.
Researchers don’t just adopt new tools, they scrutinize them. With academic burnout, tool fatigue, and tight budgets in play, the real challenge was earning not just attention, but justification. We had to prove that SciSpace wasn’t just helpful, it was essential.

The Campaign

We created an archetypal consumer profile and leaned into their universal struggles of research, namely overwhelm, delays, and confusion, and flipped them with sharp, visual metaphors and punchy, solution-first copy. Key creative moves included data-backed insights, emotive metaphors, and a keen sense of urgency, topped off with a unified call to action tying the entire campaign into a performance-focused funnel. Alongside static and animated assets, we launched a brand video and A/B tested landing pages, creating an effective awareness-to-trial sign-ups funnel.

The Result

Being considerate of the platforms that will drive the best results, namely Twitter and Meta for awareness, and the latter alongside Google for conversions, we managed to build a steady funnel, converting a steady 3.4% to 4% sign-ups at a healthy $30 CPA.
