My Weight Loss Journey

Though the years, you all have followed along and supported me on my fitness journey. And as I've mentioned before, writing is a form of therapy for me. It's also motivation, current and to look back upon. So here I go...
4 weeks ago, I underwent gastric sleeve surgery and had a hiatal hernia repair. At first, I kept it to myself, only telling my immediate family and a couple close friends. Honestly, because I was a bit embarrassed. I've worked hard over the last 7 years working out and eating right, but the things I was doing weren't working anymore. I was frustrated, unhappy with myself, my body hurt, and so much more. I'm also sharing my experience because over the next few months many will notice the change and may not want to ask, or will speculate. So now you know! LOL
I also want people to know that this surgery isn’t the “easy way out,” as many might think. It’s truly life-changing, and it still requires dedication—eating right, exercising, and making quite a few sacrifices, just like before. It's a powerful tool, but the work is still mine to do.
I do feel amazing! There have been no complications, I'm walking daily, and even working out with light weights (doctor approved of course). I can't wait to get back to my heavier weights! But, every day my back and knees hurt less. I’m also proud to say I’m down 22.2 pounds and 30 inches in 4 weeks!
I hope by sharing my story, I can motivate and educate others. Weight loss surgery is a personal choice, and for me, it’s been the right one. If you're on your own journey, do what makes you happy and what works best for you and don't worry about what others think!
Cheers to being healthy and happy friends! And as always, if I can ever help in your fitness/health journey, do not hesitate to reach out!
