Background
The future of work was already trending toward a more flexible model, and COVID accelerated that trend. A hybrid model means it is harder to facilitate a sense of connection and belonging; and intentionally get to know colleagues and feel part of a collective culture.
Problem Statement:
Dispersed employees are having difficulty making connections and feeling a sense of belonging and a part of a collective culture. Employees have also voiced that they value accessible, inclusive and equitable connected ways of working in a hybrid model.

Researching the Problem

User Interviews questions & answers
Research Goal
Discover how to help work-from-home mothers of young children, connect with each other outside of work.
User Research Interviews
We interviews 7 potential users to ask them informational and personal questions to find out what their needs were.
Research Methods
Literature Review: We read articles provided by workday related to the challenge of working from home with children.
User Interview: Ask potential users a series of questions over zoom 30 min conversations.
Competitive Analysis: Researched similar products on the market to find where there was room for a solution.
Research Conclusion
There are many different resources available spread all over the internet. I wanted to create a site that would compile these resources to one place. Most of my survey participants stated that they like to workout when they started to feel anxious and others said being outside or near the sun.
Preliminary User Research Findings
80% of W-F-H mothers wanted to make connections with other mothers working from home.
50% of users said they found it challenging to find time for themselves during the week.
30% of users found that maintaining friendships after having children was hard.
With my group, we did a crazy 8 challenge and then voted on each idea to narrow it down to the direction we would take.
