COMPANY BACKGROUND
Futurehome is a Norwegian tech company specializing in smart home solutions focused on energy management and automation. Their products let users control and monitor home devices like heating, lighting, security, and EV charging via a central app. 
Futurehome is particularly focused on helping customers reduce energy consumption through automation and smart technology, aligning with the global push toward more sustainable living.
CHALLENGES
• The whimsical aesthetic with a "geek" culture vibe may resonate strongly with some user segments, while it might not have the same appeal to broader audiences.
• Over-reliance on cartoonish icons and illustrations, creating a disconnect between the visual elements and the brand's professional identity.
• Absence of a cohesive, emotionally resonant narrative that users can connect with, leaving the experience feeling impersonal.
• The visual language lacks alignment with the brand’s core mission of sustainable home energy management, failing to reinforce its green, eco-conscious values.
• The interface seems overly focused on technical jargon and features, which may overwhelm users who aren’t tech-savvy, limiting broader appeal.
GOAL
A complete redesign and launch of the new website in both Norwegian and English languages.
ROLE
Art Direction | Visual Design
• Designing custom graphics and icons that match the brand’s style, ensuring everything looks consistent.
• Creating infographics and visuals that present complex information in a simple, clear way.
Working alongside the creative director at the time, and closely collaborating with the Head of Growth, web developers, project managers, and copywriter to integrate excellent design and strategy.

• A sophisticated and emotionally resonant approach that appeals to users on a deeper, more meaningful level.
• Incorporation of mainstream, lifestyle-focused imagery that emphasizes human connection and authenticity.
• Engaging, relatable human stories that create a sense of belonging and emotional investment in the brand’s narrative.
• Clear alignment with the brand's core values and long-term vision, underscoring its role in driving the green energy shift and sustainable transformation.
• A pragmatic, benefit-driven communication style that highlights tangible advantages, such as energy efficiency and enhanced power management, in a way that resonates with everyday needs.

The team engaged a local development company to work on the primary architecture of the new website, and we provided continuous feedback until the desired appearance and functionality were achieved.
