Xenan, as the proprietor of Palangkaraya AEVO E-Sports community, entrusted me with crafting its logo and branding. His primary aim is to foster unity among the youth by harnessing their interests and capabilities in E-Sports. He envisions a vibrant hub where local talent thrives.

His specifications for the logo are clear: it must exude minimalism, boldness, and a futuristic vibe, while being effortlessly memorable. This succinct yet impactful design should serve as a beacon, instantly resonating with the community. Through this emblem, Xenan aspires to establish AEVO as a symbol of innovation and inclusivity, reflecting the vibrant energy and aspirations of the young E-Sports enthusiasts in his locality.

The first step we took to kick off our project involved developing a mood board for visual inspiration and ensuring alignment with the project's guidelines.

Here are the initial two mood boards that were sent to the client.

Xenandra selected several preferred visuals from the two mood boards and requested additional visuals that closely match their preferences. The third mood board serves as the final one, presented in Black and White color to avoid any influence from colors.

Let's get started with the fun part! After looking at the mood board, I started designing using dark and bold elegant colors in mind. I filled my Illustrator artboards with various fonts and explored how I could personalize the text.

I always begin my designs in black and white. Starting with color might make me biased towards a specific font just because of the color itself.

After discussing for a while, Xenandra chose a font that appealed to her, namely the font named Blanka. Xenandra picked this font because she believed it was suitable to blend with the design of the E-Sports Monogram Logo, aiming for a universal look that can be used anywhere without giving off a distinct Team E-Sports vibe. She prefers simple and minimalist colors and shapes.

He requested the monochrome logo to be added to the letter 'E' in the AEVO text because she found the default 'E' letter in that font less appealing. She feels it needs slight adjustments for a better look.

It's time for me to kick off the initial stage of sketching the logo as requested. I'll be using the Blanka font as a reference to create a logo that aligns with their preferences at this early stage.

As I begin the logo design process, I'll utilize the Blanka font as a guide to ensure the logo matches their desires. This step marks the beginning of crafting the initial sketches in accordance with their specifications, aiming to fulfill their vision for the logo.

After discussing and deliberating for a while about the initial sketches for the AEVO logo, we eventually settled on the final design derived from those sketches. Now, it's time for me to proceed with creating its digital version.

Following our discussion on various sketches envisioning the AEVO logo, we've reached a conclusion and finalized the design. It's now my turn to Creating these ideas into a digital format for the next phase of the logo creation process.

Xenan envisions incorporating unique Dayak motifs on the ID cards and business cards for his E-Sports venture as an easter egg, showcasing AEVO E-Sports' roots and establishment in Central Kalimantan. He seeks to infuse these distinctive Dayak elements subtly, celebrating the region's cultural heritage within the branding materials. These motifs serve as a homage, establishing a deeper connection with the local identity and acknowledging the community's origins. By weaving these subtle yet significant symbols into the ID and business cards, Xenan aims to foster a sense of pride and belonging among AEVO E-Sports' members while highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of Central Kalimantan.
