WordPress Form Outcomes — Independent Test Project
WordPress form outcomes: an independent engineering sample
This project tests what happens after a form reaches WordPress: a new request, a repeated submission, a conflicting reference, or a failed mail result. It is an independently built local fixture with fictional data.
The plugin registers a REST endpoint and shortcode. It stores a submission reference before calling wp_mail, reuses recorded results for matching requests, and holds failed or uncertain outcomes for review. The fixture is disabled unless its explicit local-sandbox settings are enabled.
The recorded run passed 16 checks using WordPress 7.1, PHP 8.3.33 and SQLite. The tests cover request validation, stored results, repeat handling, controlled mail failures and the sandbox guard. The published source still matches the recorded report.
Limits: pre_wp_mail returns controlled test results. No SMTP provider or external mailbox is tested. A single PHP worker does not establish multi-worker race safety, and this is not a production contact-form plugin or paid client result.
