React/Node inquiry flow: from false success to a verified local receipt
An independent engineering demonstration with fictional contact data, a React interface and a Node.js reference implementation. It reproduces a form handler that reports success even though its destination rejects the message, then shows a flow that waits for a matching receipt.
The reference validates input, keeps the destination on the server, shares an in-flight result for matching duplicate requests and rejects a reused key with changed content. It treats definite rejection differently from an uncertain transport outcome so an uncertain send is not automatically repeated.
The recorded run passed 14 checks. One integration check sends an HTTP request through Nodemailer to an actual SMTP receiver on the same computer, checking the recipient, reply address and captured message. The source and tests match that report.
The public runner accepts only a fixed scenario and creates a fresh isolated test inbox for each run. No real contact details or external email are sent. Its in-memory duplicate ledger is test-only and does not survive restarts. Local SMTP acceptance cannot prove final delivery or spam placement at a business mailbox.
This is an independent portfolio project, not a client conversion result. I am available for a scoped website test, integration fix or clear technical handover after agreeing requirements and payment.
