Hauzpin — A Real Estate Marketplace

Hauzpin is a real estate marketplace for discovering, buying, selling, and renting residential and commercial properties.

As Technical Lead, I was responsible for the platform's architecture and end-to-end delivery across product development, property discovery, listing workflows, payments, maps, and production infrastructure.

Property discovery needed to be intuitive across different locations and listing types. Users needed to search by area, explore properties on a map, and narrow results without dealing with complicated filters.

The platform also needed a reliable architecture that could support listings, user accounts, messaging, payments, and future product growth. At the same time, the product had to remain practical to operate in its target market, where location-data quality, third-party service costs, and regional coverage required careful consideration.

I led the development of a map-based property discovery experience that allows users to search by location, explore listings visually, and refine results using relevant property criteria.

For property owners, we introduced AI-assisted listing creation. Uploaded property images can be used to suggest descriptions, tags, and useful property attributes, giving users a stronger starting point while keeping them in control of the final listing.

For location discovery, I designed a hybrid mapping approach that balanced regional search coverage, map quality, and operating cost. This provided a better experience in the target market without depending on a more expensive single-provider solution.

I led the technical direction of the project and worked across architecture, data modelling, product implementation, integrations, deployment, and ongoing technical decisions.

My role also involved evaluating product and infrastructure trade-offs, particularly around location search, AI-assisted listing creation, payments, scalability, and operating cost.

Hauzpin now has a production-ready foundation for property discovery and marketplace operations. The platform gives property seekers a more natural way to explore relevant listings, while AI-assisted listing creation reduces friction for property owners and helps improve the consistency of published listings.

The technical approach also provides a flexible foundation for future product expansion without exposing the platform to unnecessary infrastructure costs.
