Client

Luxury automotive company

Project overview

Custom internal software to track, manage, and maintain each vehicle the client loans out to events and private customers all across the Americas.

Client's pain points

A lot of wasted time and energy on manually managing each vehicle and its loan schedule on Excel sheets and emails
Dealing with information discrepancies due to human errors, information getting lost in the inboxes, and lack of communication between the digital tools being used
Delayed communication and approval processes

Project goals

Create a fast and easy workflow for managers of all technical fluency to submit, approve, monitor, manage, and maintain each loan request and vehicle
Offer structured but flexible ways for users to accomplish the tasks based on case-by-case priorities, such as specific date frames, vehicles' availability, and regions
Access to real-time information for all staff to help them stay on the same page

User experience strategy

I kept the design intuitive and simple while effectively using colors and visual representations so the users of diverse tech comfort levels could quickly grasp the information without having to read each text.
I also offered multiple ways to accomplish the same task depending on each user's objective. For example, to submit a loan request, they can either use a form if they already have all the information, or search for available vehicles right from the timeline if they want to see which ones are free before starting a request process.

User interface

While keeping the familiarity from the gantt-chart style Excel sheet the client had been using, I introduced freshness, structure, and organization to allow for users' faster information skimming. I created this style to be the bright, clean counterpart to their dark, luxurious branding to express their unlimited capabilities and ethos of excellence while using the common purple theme to tie them together.
