At-home and on-site car detailing company

Project overview

A suite of custom ERP software, mobile app, and customer portal to manage both at-home car detailing appointments and schedules for increased efficiency

Client's pain points

Difficult to manually consider multiple factors at the same time to arrange the appointment schedule
No way for the office to receive the inspection and appointment updates from their technicians in real-time
Many back-and-forth phone calls and emails with the customer to finalize their appointment request

Project goals

Visualize each appointment to help the client determine a more efficient schedule for increased net sales
Enable the technicians to see their daily itinerary, submit a inspection report, communicate with the office, and mark appointment completed all from a mobile app
Offer a customer portal to send a detailing request, manage appointments, and pay online

User experience strategy

It can be overwhelming to have to consider many factors, such as the customer's date/time preference, location, distance, service duration, and technicians' availability, to determine a relational schedule between visits just in our heads. I spent a lot of time figuring out how to simplify these factors to help my client make faster and more stress-free decisions.
After countless tries, I opted for visualizing the appointments with 3 integrated views on one page - map, timeline, and cards - to help the users understand the details from different angles. Using effective information grouping, I was able to display all the key details without clutter or confusion for the client.

User interface

I chose blue colors to make a connection with water and cleanliness along with a few accent colors for status labels and service types. I kept the style simple to let information stand out.
