What Did My Client Want?

Hurak is a UK training marketplace with accredited courses, real providers and a business that works. The content was solid, but the homepage layout was working against it. They wanted a page that helps people find and book a course without confusion, while still feeling like Hurak.

Specific Requirements

One clear place to browse courses instead of two competing systems
A course card that repeats the same way every time, so users can scan without relearning the layout
Search as the obvious, unmissable next step
Every section sized to match what it actually holds
The brand kept recognizable, with a plain, neutral UK training marketplace tone rather than a generic SaaS template

What I Delivered

I started with a full audit of the homepage, and six problems stood out:
Two navigation systems listed the same categories.
Course cards were mixed, with circular logos and full photo banners side by side.
Two near-identical full-width sections spoke to completely different audiences.
A support section used three large cards to show a phone number, a chat link and an email.
A generic stock photo sat next to the main search action.
Spacing and type changed from section to section.
From there, I rebuilt the page around one idea: the layout should support the content, not fight it. The two category systems became one flow: a category selector, a featured banner for the active category, and the course list underneath. Every course card now follows the same structure, so the only thing that changes from card to card is the course itself. The business and instructor blocks now sit side by side as an equal pair. The support section shrank to a single clean row that matches the trust strip above it. One spacing and type scale runs through the entire page.

Key Deliverables

Full UX audit of the existing homepage with every issue documented
Merged category navigation with a featured banner and course list
Standardized course card: logo, title, provider count and price
Rebalanced audience section for Hurak Business and Teach with Hurak
Compact contact row matching the existing trust strip style
New hero image that shows the act of finding and booking a course
One spacing and type scale applied across the whole page
Redesigned homepage in Figma, ready for development

Overall Experience

This project was about restraint. Hurak didn't need a new brand or a flashy template. It needed a layout that stopped getting in the way. Most of the work was removing duplication and making things consistent, and that's what makes the page feel calmer and easier to use. The result is still clearly Hurak. It's just a version where the content finally gets to do its job.
