Solution:

PawMate bridges the gap between people and shelter dogs by creating mutually beneficial relationships that bring joy and emotional support to both sides. By making it simple to discover and book walks, PawMate offers an easy yet powerful way for people to experience the warmth and happiness only dogs can bring, while giving the animals the activity, socialization, and exposure they need.

Research & Foundation:

To build a product that truly connects people and shelter dogs, I began with research. I analyzed competitors — from pet adoption platforms to dating apps — to understand what drives emotional engagement and user trust.
Through hypotheses and audience research, I identified key motivations: the need for emotional support, meaningful connection, and low-effort participation. Personas and customer journey maps helped translate these insights into real user stories defining how people discover PawMate, interact with it, and find joy through shared walks.
This foundation shaped every design decision that followed, ensuring the product feels intuitive, emotionally resonant, and accessible for everyone.

App wireframes:

At this stage, I defined the key screens and sections needed to cover all core features of the app, as well as the main user flows inside PawMate. This included mapping how users would browse dog profiles, set filters, book a walk, and later interact with the community and support features. To quickly test these flows without focusing on visual design, I used vibe coding and with Figma Make created an interactive prototype. This allowed me (and potential users) to click through the app and experience the functionality in a realistic way, while keeping attention on usability and flow rather than final aesthetics.

Brand Identity:

The PawMate brand identity is created to feel warm, trustworthy, and uplifting, reflecting the emotional bond between people and shelter dogs. Its color palette uses soft, friendly tones — calming and warm hues that evoke joy and energy — paired with light neutrals to keep the interface clean and approachable. Typography is simple and accessible, with bold, modern fonts for headlines that convey clarity and friendliness. Overall, the brand personality is warm and approachable, instilling trust while celebrating joy. The mood is bright and optimistic, striking a balance between a safe, reliable space for users and a joyful, compassionate platform for dogs in need. Every touchpoint is designed to feel welcoming, emotionally resonant, and aligned with PawMate’s mission to connect people and dogs through care and companionship.

App design:

The PawMate interface is designed to be as simple and friendly as possible, making it accessible for all ages and levels of digital experience. Browsing is effortless: users can swipe or tap on dog profiles, choosing whichever feels most natural. With large photos, clear tags, and a streamlined booking flow, the app keeps the focus on connection, ensuring every interaction feels joyful and stress-free.

Website design:

The PawMate website was designed as a clear, welcoming landing point, making it easy for anyone to understand the service and download the app. Its structure is minimal and intuitive, yet interactive, guiding visitors step by step through features and community, opening the door to PawMate’s world. Large visuals, playful copy, and friendly hand-drawn icons keep the site approachable and warm, while responsive design ensures it looks and feels right on any device. The overall focus is on clarity and trust, helping visitors feel confident, informed, and inspired to join PawMate.
