Summary of the activity: The EIP Project was an activity that took place over multiple months. The EIP Project involved the idea generation and opportunity recognition needed to take advantage of market opportunities to introduce a new business, product, or service. My partner and I created the concept for a service, a healthcare app, and conducted research about the state of the market. We then prepared a 10-page written report that presented the opportunity that existed in the marketplace and how our innovation will meet the needs of consumers. The activity concluded with a class presentation about our business concept.

Execution of the activity: The activity began by choosing partners and coming up with a new business, product, or service. My partner and I came up with the idea of TRALE, a healthcare app where users could track data, analyze symptoms, and connect with their medical providers. We then applied academic marketing knowledge to brainstorm content for our written report, including the problem, customer segments, unique value proposition, solution, and conclusion. After our initial brainstorming, we applied technology through the graphic design platform Canva for the completion of the written report, which took place over several weeks with key deadlines to turn in portions of our work. After the last submission of the final draft of the written report, my partner and I created an accompanying slideshow presentation and used communication skills to explain the plans of our business concept to our class.

Evaluation of the activity: Communication and collaboration between my partner and I went well. We set deadlines for each section of the report, and these deadlines were always a couple of days before the class deadlines set by our teacher. We met every single deadline, allowing for the seamless completion of our project and ample time to make improvements every step of the way.
