I worked on e-Doc Online, a UK based fintech platform, where I designed and delivered both the public website and the entire web application from the ground up.
The challenge was not visual polish. It was translating complex, compliance heavy financial processes into flows that users could understand, trust, and complete without friction.
The Problem
The platform needed to support sensitive financial operations such as direct debit mandates, income verification, and KYC, while serving users who were not financially or technically sophisticated.
The risk was clear: exposing backend complexity directly would overwhelm users, reduce trust, and increase operational friction for the business.
My Role and Approach
I worked across product design and business analysis, directly with the client and development team.
To design responsibly, I first mapped how the system worked behind the scenes, understanding data flow, validation steps, and compliance requirements. This allowed me to design front end experiences that were accurate, implementable, and aligned with real operational constraints.
In parallel, I gathered requirements directly from stakeholders, converted them into interactive prototypes, aligned on approvals, and supported smooth handoff into development.
What I Designed
I led the design of end to end flows across the platform, including:
Direct debit mandate creation
Income verification journeys
KYC and identity checks
Supporting financial tools and account management flows
Each flow focused on reducing cognitive load, explaining why information was required, and guiding users step by step through complex financial actions.
Business Outcome
Enabled the platform to launch with a complete, usable product rather than disconnected features
Reduced ambiguity between business, design, and engineering through clear prototypes
Delivered a fintech experience that feels simple on the surface while handling complex financial operations underneath
