Overview

The Good Commerce is a Framer plugin that connects stores to Swell, a headless commerce platform. Swell runs products, carts and payments; Framer runs everything the customer sees. I designed the landing page in Figma and built the site in Framer. I also designed the marketing visuals for the launch.

The challenge

Every store is a CMS pretending not to be: a fixed template filled with products. The plugin solves the technical side by making Swell products behave like any other Framer collection. My challenge was the site: explain a headless, two-platform setup to visual designers, make ecommerce feel creative rather than technical, and turn visitors into buyers.

Key decisions

One-line value. "Design with Framer. Sell with Swell." names both tools and splits the work between them, so the idea lands without a diagram.
Setup in three steps. Connect, Install, Style: three numbered cards that make a headless stack feel like drag and drop.
Show, don't list. The landing page shows a full template instead of component screenshots, proving the components can carry a premium brand.
Simple pricing. A free tier to try and one one-time $89 plan, to avoid subscription fatigue.
Docs by symptom. Troubleshooting pages are titled with what users see ("Cart items disappear on refresh"), not technical terms.
One visual language. Designed the marketing assets: glass objects, grainy chrome and soft blurred backgrounds, with the real product UI framed on top. The site, launch posts and article visuals all read as one brand.

The product behind the site

The site had to sell a product designed by Ana Estrela, so I worked from how it really behaves. Title, price and images sync from Swell and stay locked, because Swell is the source of truth. Editable fields sit beside them for materials, care notes and product copy. Noto, her furniture store template, shows it all working on real products. Ana explains the thinking in Every store is a CMS pretending not to be.

Outcome

The Good Commerce launched with a complete public presence and is listed on the Framer Marketplace.
The biggest lesson: for a design-tool audience, the site is the demo. Its craft sells more than any feature list.
