PSAMLS 91 - WAR FARE
This section of Psalms gave me strength and encouragement during some of the most trying times in my life. Life might shake you up at times, leaving you feeling scared and hurt. There have been occasions when I have entered into battle while fully aware that my own power will not get me very far. However, when I have the word of God at the tip of my tongue, I am assured that there will be a breakthrough at the end of it all.
I would encourage anyone who is going through a difficult time in their life to pray using Psalm 91, remembering that the same God who stands by us today and stood by David when he faced his giants is the same mighty and unchanging God, will never lose a battle, and in His capable hands we are assured of safety, comfort, vengeance, and unfailing love.
God promises to free us from those who are battling us in verses 14 through 16. Because we have fled to Him for safety, mercy, deliverance, and protection, we may rest certain that He will be at our side and save us during those trying times.
Psalm 91 personalized
1 Because I dwell in the shelter of the Most High, I will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “ He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely He will save me from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover me with his feathers and under his wings I will find refuge; his faithfulness will be my shield
5 I will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day.
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me (or my family).
8 I will only observe with my eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If I say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and I make the Most High my dwelling,
10 No harm will overtake me, no disaster will come near my tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning me to guard me in all my ways.
12 They will lift me up in their hands so that I will not strike my foot against a stone,
13 I will tread on the lion and the cobra; I will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
