SoftCanada is a digital platform designed to help newcomers integrate into Canadian society by providing essential services in career development, real estate, finance, and immigration. The platform connects users with career advisors, realtors, financial tools, and immigration resources, streamlining their settlement process.
As a Product Designer at OluTech Solutions, I played a pivotal role in refining the SoftCanada dashboard, ensuring a user-centric, intuitive, and visually compelling experience for individuals navigating complex transitions. My responsibilities included creating structured wireframes, optimizing UI content, and improving user flows for core service areas.

Process

Understanding Newcomer Challenges

The design process began with comprehensive user research to understand the challenges newcomers face when settling in Canada. Through surveys and interviews, I identified major pain points such as difficulty accessing career opportunities, securing housing, managing finances, and navigating immigration procedures. Many users found existing solutions disjointed, leading to frustration and inefficiency.
To gain deeper insights, I analyzed competitor platforms to evaluate gaps in usability and service offerings. This research helped me develop user personas that mapped out key frustrations and expectations, ensuring that design decisions were tailored to real user needs.

Creating an Intuitive User Experience

With a clear understanding of user pain points, I focused on designing an intuitive and structured dashboard that categorized essential services into Career, Real Estate, Finance, and Immigration. The goal was to provide a seamless and guided experience for newcomers, allowing them to access relevant resources without confusion.
One of the key features I designed was the advisor consultation flow for career and immigration services. By streamlining the booking process and integrating guided support, users could connect with experts efficiently. Additionally, I developed a navigation system that made browsing job listings, real estate options, financial tools, and immigration resources effortless, ensuring users could find what they needed with minimal friction.

Enhancing Visual & Content Clarity

To reinforce usability, I created detailed wireframes that established a strong UX foundation. Visual clarity was a priority, so I crafted an engaging and trustworthy UI that emphasized readability and accessibility.
I incorporated dynamic elements such as automated sliding cards to highlight key content, ensuring users remained engaged. By maintaining a structured hierarchy in both content and design, I enhanced trust and ease of navigation. Additionally, I ensured that the platform adhered to accessibility standards, making it inclusive for a diverse range of users.

Outcome

The final outcome of the travel booking website was a user-friendly and engaging digital product that exceeded the client’s expectations.
Users could easily search for destinations, compare travel packages, and book their trips, all within a seamless and intuitive website experience.
As a result, the travel agency saw an increase in user engagement and bookings, and the website has become a vital component of their overall customer experience.
