Aurum Museum — Australian Art & Culture Website Design
Short Description
A premium museum website concept designed to showcase exhibitions, collections, events, tickets, and visitor information through an elegant cultural digital experience.
Project Overview
Aurum Museum is a modern Australian art and culture museum website concept created to present exhibitions, collections, events, and visitor information in a refined and immersive way.
The goal was to design a website that feels cultural, premium, trustworthy, and easy to explore. Instead of making the site look like a simple information page, I focused on creating a museum experience that feels editorial, inspiring, and visitor-friendly.
The design combines large visual storytelling, elegant typography, exhibition-focused layouts, and clear navigation so visitors can discover art, plan their visit, and book tickets with ease.
The Goal
The main goal was to create a museum website that communicates culture and trust while making important visitor actions simple.
I focused on designing a website that could:
Build a strong first impression
Showcase current and upcoming exhibitions
Make cultural content feel immersive and premium
Help visitors plan their visit easily
Support ticket booking and membership promotion
Present opening hours, location, events, and visitor information clearly
Work smoothly across desktop and mobile devices
The final direction balances artistic storytelling with practical website usability.
Design Direction
The visual direction is based on a premium Australian art and culture museum.
I used a refined palette of charcoal black, warm ivory, sandstone beige, muted gold, and soft gallery gray. This creates a sophisticated museum feeling while keeping the content readable and elegant.
The typography uses large editorial serif headings paired with clean modern sans-serif body text. This gives the website a cultural, high-end, gallery-style atmosphere.
The imagery direction focuses on museum interiors, framed artworks, sculpture, exhibition spaces, visitors viewing art, gallery lighting, and cultural exhibition visuals.
Pages Designed
Cover Image

Homepage Design
The homepage introduces the museum with a strong hero section, featured exhibitions, upcoming events, plan-your-visit section, ticket CTA, location information, newsletter signup, and footer.
Exhibitions Page
The exhibitions page was designed to help visitors explore current, upcoming, and past exhibitions. It includes exhibition cards, date information, filters, visual previews, and ticket booking CTAs.
Mobile Responsive Design
The mobile experience includes homepage, exhibitions, exhibition detail, and visit/ticket screens. The design keeps navigation simple and makes it easy for users to browse exhibitions or plan their visit from their phone.
UX Strategy
The user experience was designed around discovery and clarity.
I focused on:
Clear website navigation
Strong exhibition hierarchy
Easy access to ticket booking
Simple current/upcoming/past exhibition browsing
Visitor-first information structure
Clear opening hours and location details
Mobile-friendly planning experience
Elegant layouts that support reading and exploration
Premium visual storytelling without making the site hard to use
The goal was to make the website feel inspiring while still being useful for real museum visitors.
Visual System
The brand and website system uses:
Editorial serif typography for cultural impact
Clean sans-serif typography for readability
Dark charcoal backgrounds for premium mood
Warm ivory sections for content clarity
Muted gold accents for elegance
Large exhibition imagery for storytelling
Minimal iconography for visitor information
Clean spacing and structured layouts
Gallery-inspired visual composition
This creates a digital experience that feels refined, artistic, and professional.
