🌍 Canafz – African Spices Export Website

Role: Lead Web Designer, UI/UX Strategist, Brand Consultant & SEO Specialist Platform: Wix Studio
Description: I led the complete design and development of Canafz, a premium spice export brand bridging the authentic spice trade from Africa to Canada. This project required a multidisciplinary approach β€” combining strategic UX thinking, cultural storytelling, brand development, and SEO optimization β€” to establish a credible and conversion-focused online presence.
πŸ”§ My Responsibilities:
1. UI/UX Strategy & Website Architecture: I began by defining the website’s architecture, mapping a user journey that caters to international buyers and B2B trade partners. The goal was to present Canafz as both an authentic African brand and a trusted global supplier. I designed intuitive page flows, seamless navigation, and conversion-ready sections that highlight both the product value and export capability.
2. Visual Design & Brand Expression: Inspired by earthy African textures and Canadian minimalism, I crafted a visual identity that feels premium yet culturally rooted. I used rich spice imagery, natural tones (deep ochres, warm browns, and organic blacks), and subtle African patterns to embed authenticity. Each visual element was chosen to reflect trust, heritage, and trade integrity.
3. Custom Website Development on Wix Studio: Using Wix Studio, I built the site from scratch with responsiveness across all devices. I customized layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop views β€” ensuring visual consistency, fast load times, and user-friendly interfaces. Each section was designed for clarity and action β€” whether showcasing the spice collection or encouraging buyer inquiries.
4. On-Page SEO & Optimization: I implemented advanced on-page SEO strategies, including structured metadata, optimized headings, keyword targeting for spice-related exports, and geo-targeting for Canadian markets. All content was SEO-ready with best practices in alt tags, semantic markup, and mobile performance scoring, ensuring long-term visibility for organic search.
5. Content & Messaging Strategy: Beyond visuals, I worked closely on the messaging β€” defining key brand phrases, product narratives, and international trust markers. I positioned Canafz not just as a seller of spices, but as a bridge between African agriculture and Canadian culinary markets.
6. Performance Testing & Launch Support: Before launch, I tested the website across major browsers and devices, ensured all contact forms were functional, and provided the client with post-launch support, analytics setup, and update guidance.
