This residential new construction project in Armonk, NY, showcases a modern take on classic barn architecture. The design integrates rustic, natural materials with a clean, contemporary aesthetic, creating a home that feels both timeless and innovative. Our comprehensive architectural, structural, and MEP services were integral to bringing this unique vision to life, ensuring a beautiful, functional, and efficient building.
The exterior of the house, seen here from an aerial perspective, blends seamlessly with the lush, wooded surroundings. We focused on material harmony, using weathered wood siding and stone to complement the natural landscape. The design prioritizes open spaces and a connection to the outdoors, with large windows and multiple exterior living areas.
A key feature of the design is the outdoor living space, including a large deck and a swimming pool. Our structural design ensured that the expansive deck is not only aesthetically pleasing but also robust and durable. We paid close attention to the structural integrity and load-bearing requirements, providing a safe and inviting space for relaxation and entertainment.
The main residence is complemented by an adjacent structure that houses the garage and an additional living space. The exposed timber frame of the porch area is a striking structural element that highlights the barn-inspired design. We meticulously designed the structural components to be both functional and a central part of the home's architectural expression, including the two prominent chimneys that provide both aesthetic balance and functional utility.
Inside, the living spaces maintain a strong connection to the outside through floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a thoughtfully designed open layout. This image shows a serene outdoor seating area that seamlessly transitions into the home. Our mechanical and electrical engineering designs ensured optimal climate control and lighting for both the indoor and outdoor spaces, making every part of the home comfortable and inviting year-round.
