Create the Erotic Lookbook

Create the Erotic is a sex coaching practice that guides individuals, couples, and groups to embrace sexual liberation through trauma-informed coaching and workshops on relationships, LGBTQIA+ issues, BDSM, kink, and more.

The client was brought to me by the creative agency Souley Gazing, for whom I provide consistent contract work.

Create the Erotic came with a sensual color palette and moodboard that had been developed with the agency. The brand was looking for a sexy, nostalgic logo that referenced both strength and divine femininity. The client requested some subtle BDSM toys intertwined with some soft imagery.

My initial approach was to reference vintage black feminism posters. However, I quickly focused on a text-centered design for the primary logo.

For the primary logo, I put the focus on the brand name—with a subtle sexy touch. The typography is entirely vintage. In the future, I envision a logo animation where the whip snaps. This would be great for promotional and marketing materials, such as a closing for Instagram reels.

For the secondary logo, I focused on building the brand's acronym as a recognizable symbol. I also played with the brand's color palette and offered some vintage gradient options.

For the primary and secondary logos, the client requested some changes:

Remove the pointed serif from the "C"

Reshape the whip "T" design to remove any confusion with the letter "P"

Remove the dark indigo from the proposed gradient and choose some lighter color options

For the icon logos, the client requested a BDSM bouquet—something that is simultaneously feminine and powerful. These are the final designs I developed with a flogger, a minimal rose bouquet, and another vintage-inspired typography.

For the icon logos, we agreed on the following changes:

Removed the extravagant serif on the "C"

Redesigned the flower to resemble a rose
