CO2 Calculator Video

The D&AD brief asked for an approach to combat the high levels of pollution made by the clothing industry, and to an extent, the world. 

My approach to this was to create an app that tracks and give the user a scale of the CO2 footprint. The majority of people don't have a scale of how much emissions they produce by their spending and living habits. 

By 2050, in order for the world to be carbon-zero, it has been calculated that each person must reach, on average, an emissions spending of 2 tonnes per year. In contrast to this, the normal person in the US has a living standard that produces over 16 tonnes of CO2 per year. 

In order to make people have a better grasp of their CO2 footprint, the app is linked with Apple Pay and Google Pay and a list of each item you could buy, found on the Internet. This way, the process is seamless and will offer the user a detailed list of their spending at the end of each month. The upper limit is 165 kg per month.
