Overview

I designed the mobile user interface and landing page for Decolonising Memory, an immersive augmented reality experience aimed at engaging users in critical reflection through location-based storytelling.
The goal was to create a clean, intuitive interface that supports emotional depth and narrative flow without overwhelming the user, all while ensuring usability for a wide audience.

UX Highlights

Interactive scene control allowing users to:
View a map
Select, repeat, skip, or continue scenes
Exit at any point
Accessible layout that supports both first-time and repeat users
Smooth, emotion-aware transitions to support reflection without interruption

Visual Approach

Minimal, focus-first UI designed to keep users immersed in the experience
Subtle color palette and typography to reflect the reflective, historical tone
Simple iconography for intuitive navigation, even during movement or distraction

Results

Created an interface that bridges AR complexity with user clarity
Built a landing page that aligns visually and contextually with the app
Helped deliver a meaningful, user-driven experience with ease of use at its core
