Power BI Dashboard for Invoice Management

Project Overview: Designed and implemented a centralized Power BI dashboard to track invoice processing across multiple vendors, workflows, and team members within Scotiabank’s Contract and Invoice Management team.

Project Goals:

Visibility for team members and management.

Ability to filter based on vendor, status, due date, team member.

A single true source of invoice status.

My Role in the Project

Figure out a way to connect the existing database to the dashboard.

Interviewed analyst and leadership to gather main necessities.

Design the architecture of the dashboard.

Test and train other team members.

Challenges

Had to handle this project on parallel of regular workload.

Only team member developing plus one tester.

Manual upload of data from Access due to lack of funding.

Steep curve in terms of training and familiarizing team with PowerBI.

Results

Improved visibility and accountability.

Positive feedback from leadership.

Dashboard was used until a new project was developed for a stand alone tool.

Reduced invoice ‘drop’ by 35%.
